A DIY Coffee Scrub that will awaken your soul!
Winter is upon us and being a resident of Johannesburg, that means dry skin. I have intensified my moisturising routine, thankfully a good scrub helps combat dry skin too. This coffee scrub recipe is the perfect winter DIY!
Body scrubs are some of the easiest DIYs to do and they are always sensational! There is nothing better than the feeling of using a handmade scrub.
I am not much of a coffee person so when I was sent a bag of Sihle’s Brew, I knew it would be put to better use as a beauty additive than as a drink. One can’t deny that coffee is one of the best smells in the world, which is why it is great to use it as an awakening body scrub instead.
By using coffee, you have the chance to access some pretty great benefits for your skin too!
It reduces inflammation and is packed with antioxidants. Coffee is also said to slow down the ageing process by fighting free radicals from the sun. It reduces puffiness and brightens skin.
The coconut oil hydrates your skin and leaves it feeling so soft. Because this recipe contains coconut oil, I wouldn’t recommend using it on your face. Coconut oil tends to clog pores so not great for the face, you can swap out the coconut oil for olive oil if you want to use it on your face.
The scrub makes a great gift as well. I made it in December and gifted it to all the women in my family. Everyone loved it, I have had quite a few requests for more!
The recipe is really simple and makes use of only 3 ingredients.
I hope you enjoy it! Share your attempts with me on Instagram, you can tag @withmyloveza and I will see it.
